Dear Parents/Guardians, 

As you may know, California is encouraging all families to access at-home COVID-19 testing for their children as they return to school after the winter break. To help make this a reality, California is providing one at-home rapid test for each K–12 public school student. After several delays from the State, 小蓝视频 was able to get enough kits for one test for each student in TK-10th grade. Unfortunately, our allotment does not include enough tests for our preschool students. 

小蓝视频 Union School District will be distributing the tests to families at your child’s school site on Monday, January 10, 2022 from 1:00-3:00pm. This is a drive through pick-up, and supplies are limited to one test kit per TK-10 student enrolled in a CVUSD school. Additionally, If you have children enrolled in multiple schools in the District, your child’s tests were allocated to their school of attendance (not by family), so you will need to visit each student’s individual school site to collect the tests for your family. We apologize for any inconvenience, but this was necessary due to limited supply and the short timeline for distribution.

While there is no statewide testing mandate for students returning to school, we encourage you to use the kits to test your children for COVID-19 as soon as you receive them to help keep in-person school safer for everyone. These tests are voluntary, and you are not required to pick up a test if you do not wish to have one. 

Should your child test positive, please keep your student home from school and notify your doctor, the local health department, and your student’s school right away.  from the state explains how to share your student’s at-home COVID-19 test results with the local health department. If the results of your child’s at-home test are unclear, please contact your school to arrange for a new test. 

If your student has symptoms (like cough and fever) or has been in contact with someone with COVID-19, please keep them home and use your COVID-19 testing kits. In addition, please call to notify us before they return, even if the test is negative– more testing may be needed. If your child’s test is negative, and your student feels well and has no COVID-19 symptoms, we look forward to welcoming them back to our campus. 

Our students, employees, and families have been working tirelessly to keep schools both safe and open for in-person learning. Thank you for using the at-home tests as an additional tool in our toolbox to keep each other safe and to keep our classrooms open.
