• Welcome to 2nd Grade!

     Welcome to Room 9! I am so excited that you are in my class this year. We will have a fun, exciting, and productive year. Our classroom is a family! We will learn about each other's passions and interests, encourage each other to persevere, and learn important skills for communicating and collaborating.

  •  We have a very full schedule planned this year, filled with Reading fictional and non-fictional stories. You will become awesome Authors and Illustrators during Writers Workshop. I know you will grow as Mathematicians as you work hard on your Math skills. And I bet you already LOVE JiJi, the penguin, in ST Math! You will design Science projects and participate in fun experiments, as well as learn about the world around you during our Social Studies units.

    I also enjoy Art, and being creative, so we will do fun things with paint, oil pastels, and paper. PE is fun because you can participate in Running Club, and earn small tokens to take home at the end of the year. We will also learn skills, fun games, and how to work together as a team.
     
    Technology and Computer Science skills are important to help you prepare for your future, and I LOVE Technology! I am always learning new apps and programs that I can share in my classroom. We will create Google Slide Shows and Screencastify them. I will teach you how to make creative posters and projects using different programs. We will even learn about coding and programming robots.
