Hello families! 

I am excited about this school year. We are going to be doing a lot of learning and I can't wait. I have the hope and dream that your students will grow to love learning and enjoy coming to school.

Here is a little about me. I have been teaching for 9 years and 2nd grade is my favorite grade! I am all about family. I grew up here in San Diego and love it. I am married and we have three wonderful children that are my whole world. My oldest is 5 years old and her name is McKenzie. Riley Rose is my middle child and she is 3 years old. My son, Connor, is 1 year old. I love being a mom and understand how important childhood is.

This year I will be pushing your students to read at home and at school. I think learning how to read is very important so we will be reading every day. Please partner with me and push your students to read every night for 30 minutes. Their homework is to read for 30 minutes every night and fill out a paper to bring in Friday!

When it comes to math my focus is making sure your students understand deeply what we learn. I want them to explain their thinking along with answering questions. Adding and subtracting will be our focus this year. Writing is going to be great this year. We will write everyday and work on writing more than ever before. 

To help your child in writing please have them write about activities you do. Any writing helps them for our class! 

We will also do science, social studies and art throughout the year.
