Hello there!

My name is Ms. Baha Hashemian, and I am an Education Specialist. Before jumping into a career in education, I spent over a decade working with young children and helping them grow. Watching the development over the years lead me to persue my current career in teaching. Children are my passion!

I am an Education Specialist, and I teach SAI English, SAI History, as well as Tutorial. 

Special Academic Instruction (SAI)  English - This course provides specially designed small group English Language Arts instruction for students who need more intense, direct instruction in encoding, decoding, comprehension, and writing.  We will focus on 6th, 7th, and 8th grade common core standards and relate them to becoming a global citizen.  A global citizen is someone who sees themselves as part of an emerging sustainable world community, and whose actions support the values and practices of that community.  Through guided reading, students will be reading a variety novels, short stories, poems, and working on citing textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text.  Students will be responsible for daily free reading outside of the classroom; as well, to continue their development of decoding, fluency, comprehension, and finding interest in the world around them.  Furthermore, through guided reading, writing, and practice students will develop valuable writing and speaking skills; which, will enable them to clearly express their needs, ideas, and thoughts, while acquiring global citizenship.
