• Welcome to room 502 and my history class.
One thing I want you, my student, to take away from my class is an understanding (or possibly a love) for history. History impacts our lives...not just past history, but also the present...the now!... and the future. Why does this matter?? Because you are the future!
The future of your family, your community, your country, your world.

Another thing I ask of my students is that you are a thinker and a speaker. Rodin's Thinker
I encourage discussion, debate, discourse and even downright disagreement ... I want you to think about history, and think about the role that you play in history. There will be plenty of opportunity in all my classes for open discussion among my students - but due to this, I expect students to respect each others opinions and thoughts. Speaking publicly is a learned skill and want to help my students develop this skill. Part of that is feeling safe in an environment that encourages a variety of opinion .... can't get any more democratic than that.

Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I want to hear from you!
    Sincerely,
    Mrs. Lynne Hobel
