Elementary Social Studies Program

    The CVUSD History/Social Studies program centers on skill attainment and social participation based on California State Standards.  In addition, the program provides  student opportunities to deepen their understanding of our world through print, digital and blended learning opportunities.  During course studies, Common Core reading and writing skills are reinforced.

    Students are introduced to the beginnings of the human story. As they explore the great early civilizations of Egypt and the Near East, India, China, Greece, and Rome, students discover the secrets of these ancient cultures that continue to influence the modern world.

     

    Grade 7: The Medieval World and Beyond

    Students explore the legacy of civilizations from Europe, Africa, and the Middle East to Asia and the Americas.

     

    Grade 8: The United States Through Industrialism

    Students are immersed in a powerful journey through the history of the United States from its earliest foundations to the age of industrialism.
