Hello & welcome to kindergarten!

My name is Nancy Gomez Vazquez and I go by Miss Nancy. I am so proud and excited to be your child’s teacher this year. I knew I wanted to be a teacher when I began collecting teacher edition books and “teaching” my stuffed animals in second grade. I love supporting students in achieving their goals. 

I was born in Guadalajara, Mexico and moved to San Diego when I was 5 years old. I am immensely proud of everything my family has accomplished in order for me to be where I am today. I have a bachelor's degree from San Diego State University in Liberal Studies with a focus on mathematics and Spanish. 

When I am not teaching I am spending time with my family, reading, and gaming with friends. I do not have any kiddos of my own but I have had the great pleasure of seeing my four nieces and nephews grow up. 

I have had the honor of teaching third and fourth grade at Fuerte and I am incredibly excited to teach Kindergarten. The kindergarten team is amazing and I am grateful to be a part of it. I am passionate about mathematics, bilingualism, and reading. My goal is to ensure your student falls in love with learning. I look forward to this school year together!
