Ms. Claudia Lopez

Hello, my name is Claudia A. Lopez, and I am a special education preschool. I am really looking forward to working with you and your child and watching him/her grow and develop. I received my Bachelor Degree in Special Education with a concentration in Hearing and Language from Normal Superior de Especialidades in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. I received my Early Childhood Special Education Teaching Credential and my Master of Art Education with a concentration in Autism from San Diego State.  My background includes a variety of experiences that have prepared me for working with your little ones. I began working in general and special education classrooms when I was 18 years old. My experiences include working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, with special education preschool students and with blind adult students at Imperial Valley College as a reader/scribe. I also worked as a substitute for the Imperial County Office of Education in various classrooms ranging from preschool age to elementary age students. Most recently, I worked as an Applied Behavior Analysis Interventionist working with children on the Autism Spectrum.

I believe that children with typical and atypical development learn through fun and interesting activities, which focus on stimulating, engaging, and developmentally appropriate. Parents are the first teachers who help and support their child’s education learning every day. I also believe that the development of a strong partnership with parents, general education teachers, and special education teacher, as well as getting to know my students particular needs and strenghts, are the key to a successful education, progress, learning, and inclusion of our preschool students.
