Hello! My name is Nikki Botts and I am so lucky to be able to teach 2nd grade at Naranca Elementary! I'm originally from Ohio and moved to San Diego eight years ago when I married my husband, Ryan. I received my undergraduate degree from Ohio University, where I majored in both International Business and Marketing, as well as received a minor in Spanish.

After working in a traditional office setting for several years and volunteering with children in a variety of capacities, I felt called to shift career paths to teaching. I went back to school and received a Masters of Arts in Teaching with a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and an Education Specialist Instruction Credential (Mild/Moderate Disabilities) from Point Loma Nazarene University.

The best part of my job is getting to interact and build relationships with the amazingly diverse community of El Cajon. My heart is happy getting to learn about and celebrate both cultural differences and similarities. I feel privileged to help educate my students both as people and as mathematicians. 

When I'm not teaching, I enjoy going to the beach, volunteering with my favorite Weimaraner rescue, exercising, and being with my family.
